Getting to number one for a search term on google is like winning a gold medal in the Olympics. Once you are on the podium though you cannot sit back and grin. You have to keep your site fit to stay on top or you will get knocked off.
Recently I noticed that my Gold for
goonengerry.com.au had turned to silver.
This was a wake up call and I have taken a number of steps to get the Gold back for
goonengerry.com.au.
1. upgraded to joomla 1.5
2. search engine friendly urls
3. small advertising campaign to drive traffic to site
4. digg and delicious
5. links to goonengerry.com.au on a dozen relevant sites we manage
With the upgrade to 1.5 we have also freshened up the design with a rocket theme template. I will do another blog on that and of course will keep you updated as Goonengerry goes for Google Gold again.
