Dusty Bush in the Newspaper

A few weeks ago, Kaleigh and I were winding our way down the green hills of Goonengerry into Ballina. We noticed a haze coming from the South, but wrote it off as a side effect of the high winds and the construction at the Ballina bypass.
We soon learned that it was a dust storm that made it's way North from Sydney and was busy masking the Green Cauldron with a dusty cloak. Before too long it was all over the media, and various newspapers were eager to get residents of the affected areas to submit their photographs.
I looked out the window and saw my favorite horse friend, Elmo, pressed against the fence with his ears happily standing at attention. The Cromwell family are convinced that Elmo must have been a male model in a previous life, as the instant a camera is pulled out he flaunts his own take on Derek Zoolander's Blue Steel.
So a few emails later, I submitted my photo of Elmo in the dusty paddock to the editor of the Byron Shire Echo, and it landed on the cover of the next paper. We all had a laugh that "Bush came to town" was the headline, as admittedly, our schedules have been collecting some dust as of late, but like the storm, who knows what will be the next thing to blow into town.
